The Singing Bird by Lynne Moncrieff

For this weeks DT project I decided on a collage for a Springtime feel to it and what better stamps to select than Oxford Impressions’ The Bird’s Nest.

Supplies
Oxford Impressions The Bird’s Nest
Oxford Impressions Season of Giving
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paints:- Honeydew, Dolly Mix, Vintage Lace, Moonlight
PaperArtsy Crunchy Tissue Paper
Archival Sepia
StazOn Timber Brown
Re-cycled cardboard box
White cardstock
Flowers:- paper, glass and ceramic
Mini clothes pin
Fabric Scrap
Speedball Brayer

Instructions

·       Apply PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paints in Honeydew, Dolly Mix, Vintage Lace and Moonlight to a piece of corrugated cardboard. Apply the same paints to PaperArtsy Crunchy Tissue Paper and white cardstock.

·       Ink the Speedball Brayer with Archival Sepia. Ink up the bird collage from Oxford Impression’s The Bird’s Nest, stamp onto a piece of Dolly Mix painted cardstock. Re-ink and stamp onto Honeydew painted cardstock. Cut out small elements from the Honeydew image and layer onto the Dolly Mix image.

Now to stamp up the other images.

·       Stamp three eggs. Two inked with StazOn Timber Brown and stamped onto HoneyDew painted cardstock and one stamped onto Moonlight painted cardstock.  The sentiment was also stamped onto Honeydew painted cardstock.

·       To add another texture stamp a feather onto PaperArtsy Crunchy Tissue Paper (painted in a previous stage) painted with Honeydew. The music stamp from Oxford Impression’s Season of Giving was stamped onto Honeydew and Moonlight. Cut or tear out all stamped elements.

·       Arrange the composition prior to adhering any images. Include in the collage a fabric scrap, flowers layered together and attach a mini clothespin to the sentiment.

Until next week.
