If I had Wings Card by Mandy C

Old book page
Circle Card Blank

Make your background using the Tim Holtz wrinkle free technique (http://youtu.be/UV-8nWHplaY) and the Summer collection of distress inks. I tend to use an A4 size card so I have some backgrounds ready.

Dry your card with a heat tool.

Glue onto your circle card and cut round.

Stamp onto the background using the Summer distress colours and the Dylusions background stamps.

Dry with a heat tool (distress inks are water-based and wet)

Stamp the Typewriter Girl onto an old book page and onto some thick white paper. Cut out

Stamp the largest wings from the butterflies set onto white paper , colour with watercolours and cut out when dry.

Arrange the old paper girl onto the wings and then glue onto the card.

Cut out the white paper body of the girl and the head of the girl, glue into place and colour with watercolour pencils.

Do some doodling around the card, using the black and the white pens.

Stamp the words ‘if I had wings’ from the Creative Expressions stamp set onto a piece of the ready-made background card... I did mine onto a green bit as the card came out predominantly blue and pink so the green ‘popped’ . Glue into place.

Edge with Charcoal chalk ink ~ I use chalk ink for edging around my pieces as it’s a lot more subtle than other ink pads.

  1. Love your circle cards, Mandy. And a handy tip about using charcoal ink - cheers :-)

  2. gorgeous card, love that background with those gorgeous new DI. xx
