True North by Paula Tidman

I love altering wooden boxes, as they inexpensive to buy and you can do so much with them. This one was given three coats of cream matt emulsion then a light sanding down before stamping.

I used the Lynne Perrella Collection 001 Stamp Set and stamped the female image in Archival Ink on the box lid. I coloured the image using inktense pencils, then masked and stamped with the newsprint background stamp. I stamped the additional images then buffed on Distress Inks in Peeled Paint and Spiced Marmalade. I used some wood balsam to seal the box then a touch of gold wax on the edges of the box. I stamped a sentiment from Whimsy Stamps Sentiments Collection - Treasured Moments Tickets Sentiments and added an Idea-ology book plate to finish.

  1. A real stunner Paula. Gorgeous colours and amazing stamping.
Those stamps are on my wish list!
    Hugs, Fliss xx

  2. Brilliantly decorated, Paula. I like the way you have laid out the stamped elements, as if you will find the real thing inside when you open the box.
